It is always such a joy to go into the theatre and find out what I'll be creating for each show. When I came to the theatre to help out with this show I was told I would be helping create a tree. Creating a life-size tree for the stage was a pretty awesome experience. The director had already made the decision to use a real tree trunk for the tree which left me to just create the leaves for the tree. About a few hundred leaves later the tree had its leaves. Using several different shades of thin green fabric, and a few different-sized leaf stencils each leaf slowly came to life. To finish off the leaves they were splattered and sprayed with a grungy mixture of paint and water to give them a more realistic look.
